This afternoon we’ll hold our crew meeting to determine what our exact game plan is for leaving tomorrow. As of right now, the weather in the Gulf of Mexico appears pretty settled with forecasts of 10-15kt winds and 2-3′ seas. This is good news.

When we leave Clearwater, we’ll be doing one of two things. We’ll either be aiming directly at Pensacola, Florida (a 278nm trip, estimated 48 hours) or to Carabelle, Florida (145nm, 25 hours).

We’ll likely aim towards Pensacola, leaving Carabelle as our contingency plan in the event that we run into problems or weather and decide we need to stop early.
