I know how blog stalkers operate. I am well aware of how they scour the internet searching for crumbs and tidbits of personal antecdotes and pretty much live for images. SHOW ME THE INSIDE OF YOUR BOAT they scream!
I mostly know this because I am one. I wait and wait for the day that Genevieve posts a blog that shows me how cute her bathroom is. Or how Brittany adds color, or how Kimย makes things look so cozy. These are moments I live for. Ok, that may be dramatic, but you get the picture.
It dawned on me that we should show you our boat! So far, I wouldn’t call it cute, cozy or colorful – but we are slowly making progress!
Just in case you forgot what she looked like on the outside!
First order of business was to add some wall decor. This is tricky business because 1. we don’t have a ton of wall space and 2. not much sticks to humid, salty surfaces. If you have any wild ideas I am all ears – I can’t even figure out how to have pictures up and about.
Here is where we sleep, kinda. Mostly we just lay there and sweat.
I may have a throw pillow problem. Bo said If I bring home one more pillow either I or the pillow will have to go overboard. (good thing he hasn’t noticed all the awesome pillows on the couch!!)
LOTS of people wonder where I keep my clothes. Here is your answer.
Various shoes, scarves, hats, etc…are shoved in here. This little hanging guy is awesome until you are in wild weather and it swings around like a wild banchee and hits you in the head. While simoultaneously dumping everything. Awesome.
Here is our bathroom sink.
Bathroom cabinets, etc.. If you open those cabinets you see:
I love these hanger upper things we got on sale at the Container Store:
(shout out to Rodan!)
This is what you see walking (ducking) out of our bedroom. On the right is a tool chest. On the left is the engine room.
This is the “nav station.” Currently I can set my eyes on 6 computers in this tiny boat. There is NO telling why we have 6 computers. But I can tell you that 1/2 of them don’t work and are about to take a swim. (for real)
Bo worked like a mad man all last summer on our galley (kitchen) and I can tell you it is awesome!!
The family room is pretty awesome too! We don’t spend a lot of time down there, but in bad weather it is nice to have a cozy spot to lay down. We have constant arguments about which books get to go where, but we are working it out. Both of us have crazy amounts of books that are “essential!” My romance novels are usually trumped by engine manuals.
This is the V-Berth. Also known as the garage and guest room. Anyone want to come over?
We spend 99.99% of our time right here.
All in all, we are pretty dang happy about it. There will always be things we need to do to make it more like home – but at the moment we are good to go!
Looks cozy! I’ll have to check out those racks from the container store. I’ve been looking for something similar. Those may be it!
They are seriously the best. We have hung them EVERYWHERE! And watch for sales – they put that stuff on 30% off all the time!
CUTE BOAT! I love it! And, since it looks basically the same as ours but just slightly different, it’s even more fun to take a tour. You’ve inspired me to someday clean up and share ours ๐
I wish I could have a video of me dashing around before we took these pics. hahaha. We actually had the boat alllll packed up for us to be gone a few weeks and then suddenly un-vaccuum sealed all of it and put it back out for pictures. The things we do for a blog pic….
LOVE that you showed us the boat! I’ve always been curious about it. Looks great!
Thanks for the tour! So…how serious are you about how that being a guest room?
Absolutely serious! Come visit!
Loving your digs!! Thanks for sharing! Love and miss you too!! Enjoy the adventure!!
Thanks so much for the tour. You’re right about those of us skulking around trying to get glimpses into other people’s boats. I’m a liveaboard on a Whitby as well and am so jealous of your galley!! We still have two tiny sink basins and the 30 year old top loading fridge and freezer. Someday.
Our blog has some interior tour of our boat as well, if you’re curious.
Yay! I am not the only funny stalker out there ๐ The galley is definitely amazing – Bo did a fabulous job on it! Will most definitely check out your tour too!!
Love it! I have a slight throw pillow mania. I only need three more!
ahaha YES!
I Love love love seeing so many details!!! I love those hanging baskets on your walls so much! We leave for our boat in SIX days and I’m still looking for organizational inspiration. Thanks for sharing your home! ๐
We have a few framed prints hanging on our bulkheads – I drill a small pilot hole in the frame, countersink the top surface of it so the mounting screws won’t stick out, and screw it into the surface. We use small screws so the holes won’t be too big if we ever change our minds and have to do a repair. Usually put one mounting screw at the top and one at the bottom. Measure against a nearby “horizontal” line that you want the picture to be parallel to. No good using a level for that. I did mount one print without a frame, we had two pieces of lexan cut to the same size (thin stuff, from Home Depot or Lowes) just about 1/2″ bigger than the print on all four sides. Mounted with tiny screws through the corners. That one is mounted on the drop down “table” at the bar (you don’t see it when the table is down). That surface already had several small holes from whatever the previous owner had hanging there. GAC
