It is no secret that we had one of the best weekends of our year aboard last week. Friends, adventures and fishing were the main tenets of all the fun and we had it all in spades. The crowning moment was most definitely the lobster hunt and subsequent feast that ensued.
Bo and Brian have been lobster buddies for months and their success has been both marginal and well celebrated. They were nearly giddy with excitement to hunt with the legend himself, Peter!
Peter (most well known from Where the Coconuts Grow) and his lobster hunting partner, Eben (from It’s a Necessity) have been swimming these waters a lot longer than we have and were more than happy to share their secrets with our pair of wannabees.
After a few happy hours, the ladies proclaimed we could make lobster pizzas if they would procure the beasts. Peter assured us they would come back with at least 5 lobsters. I must say that Lauren and I were skeptical, as we have heard this song and dance before, but we opted to trust the Lobstermaster and started prepping for dinner.
In a culinary feat never to be matched again – Lauren managed to feed the entire anchorage lobster pizzas, with a side of lobster dip and lobster ceviche with the SEVEN lobsters the guys managed to snag, or snare with their fancy gear.
We used 4 boat ovens to cook the feast and managed to have an incredible dinner aboard our new friend’s trawler, Lone Palm. (If you ever need to have a massive boat party – find a trawler! They are the way to go!)
Bo and Brian grilled all the lobster on Selah and then distributed it for the pizzas, dips and ceviche.
We managed to catch the highlights on video…

Those are some large lobster! I was never served any like that at Red Lobster. 🙂
