Cooper Island, February 4th 2017, 11am.

We just spent an un-Godly amount of cash on coffees, blueberry cheesecake and some shortbread cookie thing smothered in caramel and chocolate. It is not quite noon yet on a Saturday in the British Virgin islands and we declared this morning the time to catch up on “real life.” After 10 days of cruising, sunshine, happy hours, late nights, early mornings, lobsters, turtles and everything else your vacation dreams are made of we had to pump the breaks and do a few things in the “adulting” category.

Bo’s drawers are hanging on the lines, the mound of dishes are clean, and we are online to pay the health insurance bill for the month.

Laundry in paradise

Laundry in paradise

We landed in the USVI (Christmas Cove to be exact) about 10 days and have been full throttle in FUN mode ever since. We have reunited with so many amazing friends and have soaked up every single moment. We both agree that community is a high priority for us and we have had it in spades since we arrived.

Mike and Melanie aboard sv Moonshine after a crazy steep hike on St John. Luckily we found smoothies at the top!

FB messages flew in the first hours we were back. Within minutes we had planned an impromptu mini-reunion.

Bo brought back towels from Rio and this one image captures our “glamping” lifestyle – slightly wrinkly, full of sand and colorful!

We are adjusting to limited water supplies, hand washing the laundry, early bedtimes, limited cell phone reception and horrific wifi signals and enjoying every minute. We have fallen right back into our old boat habits (read: me grumpy at Bo for leaving crap everywhere, Bo re-tying all my knots, etc…) and are happy as clams.
