We left Little Harbor and arrived Sunday in paradise.  Multiple times a day we turn to each other and exclaim “this is why we came to the Bahamas!!!!” After weeks and weeks of less than great weather, we have had 5 days in a row of lovely weather and spirits are high on Selah.

We did an overnight passage from Little Harbor straight to Warderick Wells, Exuma. (We skipped the island of Elethura completely, after much hemming and hawing.)

First on the list of things to do was hike Boo Boo Hill and leave a piece of driftwood with our boat name. It has long been a tradition of cruisers and we couldn’t wait to add ours to the stack.

Naturally at 8am we realized we had not created such a sign before. Crafts were on the agenda before coffee.

First we created a "work station" out of a bucket and a hack saw

Then I hand-lettered the boat name.

Anyone who knows me knows that arts and crafts are NOT my thing!

Next we decided the background needed a little painting, so out came the "paint station"

The giant pile of previous boats that stopped here was amazing. So cool to find boats we know!

The first sailing blog I ever followed was Kim & Jereme on Laho. We loved seeing their sign!

At the top of the hill was a sliver of cell service. Gotta do what you gotta do!

Selah is looking pretty dang happy these days.

Selah is looking pretty dang happy these days, even if she is covered in salt! Hopefully nature will give her a nighttime bath sometime soon.

Naturally, we wrapped up the day with a walk on the sandbar.

Cleary the Exumas are a hit so far. Next up we swim with pigs at Staniel Cay!  Stay tuned.
